Key technical points for welding deformation control of large welded structural parts

2026-04-15

This article introduces the key technologies for deformation control of large welded structural parts during the welding process.

Large welded structural parts are prone to deformation during the welding process, affecting assembly accuracy and performance. Controlling welding deformation mainly starts from the following aspects:

1. Reasonably design the weld position and groove form to reduce welding stress concentration;
2. Use welding sequences such as symmetrical welding and segmented de-welding to balance welding deformation;
3. Reasonably select welding parameters and control heat input;
4. Carry out stress relief treatment (vibration aging or heat treatment) promptly after welding;
5. For high-precision structural parts, leave a machining allowance, and ensure the final size through mechanical processing after welding.

Tangfeng Electromechanical has accumulated rich experience in the production of large-scale welded structural parts. Through robot welding and strict process control, it can effectively ensure product accuracy.
